This is a brief video of the SASHS Children's Lit class visiting Miss Ringling's class at Nancy Grayson to develop the Book Buddy program on Wednesday, January 25, 2017. Please turn your speakers on for fun music. Enjoy this wonderful video demonstrating the building of relationships across the district! SASHS Children's Lit students are starting to write the rough draft of their books this week. We are planning to return to read our completed books before the end of the 3rd marking period.
Have a fantastic day!

Shippensburg Area Intermediate School is proud of the 5th grade students that graduated from the DARE program this past week.  We had a wonderful DARE graduation ceremony on Tuesday evening.  Each classroom had their essay winner honored at the ceremony.  Students read their essays, pledging to make positive decisions for the future.  Students received a certificate and a DARE t-shirt. Thank you to Corporal Jeff Shubert and Sergeant Pat Taylor for their continued support of the program and the community support that makes the program possible!

The SAIS PBIS committee, making connections with older SASD students, held their January celebration day last week and the Sr. High basketball team talked to our students about being Respectful, Responsible and Safe – both on and off the court.  Our students and a few staff members got to challenge them on the court too!  Thank you to Coach Ray Staver and Coach Cressler, who also talked to students about the importance of working as a team and having goals!

Lydia Wallace the SASHS Blood Drive Coordinator with the American Red Cross has notified us that Emma Torija is one of just 3 Pennsylvanian high school  students who have completed the Level 3 requirements for the High School Leadership Program. This is quite an accomplishment!  Emma has helped to coordinate the High School blood drive for three years and even held her own drive this past summer.  She is the president of Student Council, a member of the National Honor Society, and a student representative to the school board and Shippensburg Chamber of Commerce.  We are proud of you, Emma!

Kudos to Emma and her Advisor/Coach Mrs. Elizabeth Minnich!
