Q:  If the state universities do go on strike, how will that impact us? The k, 1, and 2 teachers are University employees?


A:  We are unsure at this point. I am in communication with the University to see if the Grace B. Luhrs University Elementary School will be accessible if the faculty strike in October. If the building is accessible, we will get substitutes for Grades K, 1, and 2 during that time period. If the building is not accessible, classes will be cancelled for all GBLUES students during that time period and the time will be made up later in the school year . . .probably in June of 2017.


We will monitor this situation as negotiations continue.
