To conclude a very exciting 6th grade Mesoamerica unit Mr. & Mrs. Veley prepared and served authentic cuisine. The students were able to sample cactus, peppers, yucca, guava paste, papaya, aloe, plantains, quinoa, hibiscus drink and much more! The whole buffet was served atop banana leaves.
What a great way to bring culture into the classroom!
Kudos to Mr. & Mrs. Veley and Mrs. Jamie La Vergne for providing students this experience!

Mr. McCurdy, JBES teacher, planned an educational trip for his students and their families at the Appalachian National Scenic Trail. He led a hike and taught students and their families about a local WWII Prisoner of War Camp. Everyone had a great time and learned something new. Thank you Mr. McCurdy for going above and beyond and providing this wonderful opportunity to our students.
