Paws Applause:
Grace B. Luhrs University Elementary School recently had three teachers attend and present at
the International Association of Laboratory School Conference in Memphis,
Tennessee, hosted by the University of Memphis. Presentations included:

Thursday, April 20- Mr. Zullinger, Mrs. Serr and
Dr. Malmont (SU Teacher Education Dep’t) presented “Growing Together Through
STEM.” Part of the presentation focuses on Dr. Malmont’s Science
Methods students development of watershed-related lessons with K-2
students.

Friday, April 21st- Ms. Jackson presented “A Story Through the Ages.” The presentation focused on a K-5
writing activity. K-5 writing cohorts (six students) add to and build on
a story as it travels through ascending grade levels, with edits and revisions
based on developmental level and PA state standard focus areas.
The group was accompanied by former Luhrs Director, Mrs. Mary Jane Taylor.
