Crider Appointed
Supervisor of Special Education for the Shippensburg Area School District
The Shippensburg Area School District Board of Directors
appointed Margaret (Peggy) Crider as Supervisor of Special Education at their
regular meeting held on June 12, 2017. Mrs. Crider joins the district
with a wealth of experience in working with students of all abilities.
She is currently the Assistant to the Superintendent in Fairfield School
District and prior to that she was Director of Special Education for the
Carlisle and Chambersburg School Districts. She has also served as both a
special education and middle school science teacher prior to becoming an
administrator.
Crider earned her Bachelor’s degree in Biology from West
Chester University, her Master’s in Special Education and her Principal’s
certificate from Shippensburg University. Crider who has served as an
adjunct professor for both Shippensburg University and Wilson College, will
oversee the educational plans for over 600 gifted and special needs students in
the Shippensburg Area School District which has an enrollment of over 3,430
students.
Crider resides in Chambersburg with her husband, Dr. Bob
Crider, who works for the Greencastle-Antrim School District. They have
three adult children and attend the Presbyterian Church of Falling Spring.
