Paws Applause:

On May 8, 2017, Shippensburg Area School District and Shippensburg University signed a five year Affiliation Agreement to continue the Grace B. Luhrs University Elementary Lab School partnership.  Highlights of the Agreement include transitioning the grade configuration to a K-3 school with two classes per grade and an enrollment of about 165 students by 2022.  The current configuration is K-5 with one class per grade with about 125 students enrolled.  The funding formula has remained the same, but the school district has agreed to provide instructional materials and classroom technology consistent with what is provided to James Burd and Nancy Grayson Elementary schools.  Increased collaboration and sharing of best practices among the three schools is also a cornerstone of the agreement.  A lottery process will continue to be used to determine student enrollment in the Luhrs school.  Students must reside within the Shippensburg School District boundaries and transportation is provided, if requested.
